About the Boffin Lab
After working for large multi-national companies and craving the opportunity to be more involved in the full lifecycle of application development, Simon Hemington and Dr Steven Oglesby launched The Boffin Lab. They bring with them more than 30 years of experience of working in the IT industry and know how to deliver projects on time, on budget and above expectations.
Meet the Directors
Simon Hemington
Simon takes the creative and business lead at the company. With 21 years experience in the IT industry he has worked for both small companies and multinationals. He started out in the world of Lotus Notes, before joining the internet crowd and building his first websites around 1996. Before setting up the Boffin Lab he spent 11 years working for a multi-national construction company, Lend Lease, working on internal web based systems and building extranet applications.
Now he splits his time between developing the business, designing apps and building websites.
Outside of the lab Simon is a keen cyclist and triathlete. If you spot him at a race please say hi and get ready to talk apps.
Dr Steven Oglesby
Steven leads the company from a technology perspective. Prior to starting the Boffin Lab he spent 12 years working on software for the investment banking industry at GBST. There he acted as the lead architect for the web based trading system and worked on projects both big and small.
Before corporate life Steven achieved his PhD in Particle Physics at The University of Birmingham and spent time working on the development of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
