The Boffins' community website solutions are designed to bring together team members or groups of people (eg teams, clubs or charities) who need to communicate and collaborate online.

Some features of the community website include:

• Having separate administrators and contributors with different securities
• User profiles with the ability to contribute updates
• Post blog and news stories
• Ability to comment on entries
• Able to share photos
• Integrate with social networking sites (e.g. Facebook and Twitter)

The Boffins are able to build a site with these facilities, whatever the size, with Drupal's extensible modular system.

Hemel Hempstead Cycling Club

The 'Hemel' club has been around since 1933 and supports the cycling activities of its members.  It previously had a website that was pretty successful at driving the revival of the club having helped to increase the membership from 35 to 140 over 5 years.

Unfortunately the old website had outgrown its structure and become quite rambling and hard to navigate.  The Boffins therefore re-organised the site, simplified the structure and aimed to deliver more content relevant to two key groups.  The first, prospective new members, were targeted with a comprehensive list of what the club does to encourage them to join. The second, existing members, were given tools to share their experiences with other members.  These included a blog/news system, events calendar and results system, member galleries and forums.

At present a small team is editing the main body of the website but the system allows this to be expanded and opened up over time to allow more member contributions.
